Who is MAC?
My name is Mary Ann Claytor. I am running for West Virginia House of Delegates in District 35. Mary Ann was born and raised in Cabin Creek, WV. I now live in St. Albans with my husband of over 30 years, Howard "Cookie" Claytor. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from West Virginia State College (University) and a Master of Arts in Religion degree from Liberty University. I have a passion for people and enjoy performing civic duties such as ministering at my church and at correctional facilities.
Entering the political arena has been a life-changing experience for me. It has always been my desire to effect positive change in our state and for our citizens. I believe West Virginians are eager for representation from those with roots in Appalachia that they know they can trust to do what’s in their best interest. I have lived my entire life in the 17th District of Kanawha County. My father was a coal miner and my mother a stay at home mom. They taught me the value of giving back to my community. This is why I decided to become a candidate for West Virginia State Senate for District 17.
My experience in accounting, auditing, prison ministry, and healthcare advocacy, as well as my commonsense leadership style, will be an added asset for West Virginia. I am running a strong grass roots campaign which consists of supporters from all over the State of West Virginia. My supporters know that I am a hard worker that will fight for the best interest of the people of West Virginia.
I will be honest that it is a difficult task for me to reach out to people to ask for money. My parents taught me independence and a great work ethic. However, I realize that I will not be able to accomplish the task set before me alone. It will require help from those that are truly interested in moving West Virginia forward. Our victory will be accomplished through donations from individuals such as yourself that are willing to help propel us to the finish line.
